Open the overexposed photo in Photoshop.
Click on the “Channels” tab and Click on the “Selection” button to create a selection.
Go back to the “Layers” tab and add a curves adjustment layer. Leave the curves adjustment layer settings unchanged.
Close the curves adjustment layer and change the blending mode to “Multiply.”
Take a look at the before and after images to see the difference.

Method 2: Using Camera Raw Filter

The second method involves using the camera raw filter to fix overexposed photos. Here are the steps to follow:
Duplicate the background layer of the overexposed photo.
Convert the duplicate layer to a smart object.
